There are many ways to mark the size of bicycle wheels. We can find these markings on the side of the tire. Usually there are three kinds of markings: ISO/ETRTO, English size and French size. As shown below:
Please note that the same English size may refer to different wheel sizes. For example, the 20-inch 406 and the 20-inch 451 are both 20 inches, but they are two completely different wheel sizes.
Important: When choosing wheel size, please try to use ISO/ETRTO sizes to ensure you choose the correct wheel size.

I have a very good Raleigh Shopper (1980 ish)
and I would like to have a rear wheel kit fitted, 18 inch.
the issue is the gears as there is no cassette, als it has Stanley Archer 3 speed, I have not a problem loosening the 3 speed.
Does the wheel need a cassette

Our Geeko kits are suitable for 95% of all frames, but as we don’t know the exact parameters of your bike, please check if our kit will fit on your bike before you buy. The rear kit requires a cassette, so for single speeds we recommend swapping the front kit.

The outer width of the rims we offer is 25MM, the rim height is 21cm, double-wall aluminium rims, suitable for tyres with a width of 1.5-2.2 (or 700X23C-42C).
