I installed the Max50100R on our CoMotion tandem bike. We rode 75 miles and still had 20% battery remaining. I’m astonished at how efficient this motor is compared to the old direct drive hub motors that I’ve had on other e-bikes. We were mostly riding with level 1 or 2 pedal assist and using the motor to help on the hills. Hills where we previously needed to shift down to our lowest gear we can now climb on the middle front chain ring. My level of effort for climbing on the tandem is now less than on my lightweight road bike. It’s a real joy to ride. The power comes on smoothly and nearly silently. When pedaling near the speed limit of the motor, there’s just a slight bit of surge as the assist kicks in and out. The throttle is particularly helpful for starting out on a tandem bike. The Bluetooth app is well designed and allows complete control of the motor functions.
Installation was relatively easy. I had a bit of trouble getting the brake disk to line up. I found that if I positioned the non-drive side lock washer on the inside of the dropout, the disk would line up just right with the brake caliper. Because the controller is integrated into the bottle holder, there are far fewer wires to route and manage with this kit than with the others I’ve used. All of the connectors seem tight and waterproof. Considerable force is needed to properly join up the main cable connecting the battery to the motor. If you get an error indicating that the motor is not connected to the battery just push the connector together better and that should fix it.
I am very satisfied with the quality and performance of this kit. The only tweaking I had to do was to tighten a couple of spokes on the wheel. It arrived to northern California in just a little over a month from the date I ordered it. The tracking information was a bit confusing, but it was delivered on time and in good condition. I would definitely put this kit at the top of your list if you are considering a DIY e-bike.

Kundenzufriedenheit ist die beste Werbung und da ist ein gutes und einwandfreies Produkt ebenso wie guter Service das wichtigste. Wenn man die vielen guten Bewertungen liest, macht ihr alles richtig. Viele zufriedene Kunden schreiben keine Bewertung, nur wenn mal was schief geht, wird schnell und oft negativ bewertet. Aber davon gibt es hier ja zum Glück nicht viel.
Ich gehöre zu den positiv begeisterten Kunden, die sich schon das zweite Set bestellt haben und auch Werbung bei Freuden machen.
Einzige Kritik von mir ist die Batterieanzeige, auf die man sich wenig verlassen kann, wurde aber hier schon mehrfach geschrieben. Hier würde ich mir ein Update der Software wünschen, wenn es geht. Dafür überwiegen sämtliche Vorteile gegenüber einem reinen eBike. Ich kann alle positiven Eigenschaften bestätigen, die in allen Bewertungen stehen. Bitte auch die gute Qualität und den Top-Kundenservice beibehalten, so was lohnt sich immer.
Die Smartphone-App finde ich hervorragend, benutze aber im Alltag kein Handy auf dem Fahrrad, deswegen Bedienung nur über die Tasten auf dem Akku genügt mir. So viel braucht man während der Fahrt auch nicht ändern.
Zur Erklärung meiner Bilder: Ich habe das zweite Set erst mal in das gleiche Fahrrad eingebaut, zum Vergleich wegen der Farbe. Das erste Set ist mit Motor in schwarz, das zweite Set ist mit Motor in silber. Absolute Kaufempfehlung von mir.

I have the 7.8AH battery with the 350w rear hub which I purchased to make climbing the hills between my house and town a little more enjoyable on my old, beloved townie. This kit is fantastic. It looks super clean and stealthy, is well built, and works amazingly. I am really impressed with the butter smooth way the power is applied . The weight and motor drag when off is almost unnoticeable for me. I peddle this thing at least 50% of the time with it off. Until I decide I want the power, it just feels like riding my trusty old bike. I am about 210lbs and live in the mountains of British Columbia, Canada. I chose the 350w motor because I needed the 130mm hub width to accommodate my bike and I needed it silver to match my front rim. I otherwise may have chosen the 500w motor but, after riding it a bunch, I feel like this is the perfect amount of power for me. Also, the hub is pretty small and quiet, adding to the stealth vibes. Because I peddle this system a lot unpowered it is hard to gauge the battery life but I certainly find it more than sufficient and with daily riding I am charging it every 1.5-2 weeks. Did I say I love this system?
